Peruvian Naturals has donated this month’s AND last month’s earnings pledge to cattle, goat and sheep farmer Rosa Elena in the Tambo Grande district of Piura. Peruvian Naturals is a family business and we took a long Christmas vacation this year, so we didn’t get around to meeting our pledge last January. This is our first pledge recipient located in Piura, the region where Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa spent his childhood. Many of his novels are set there.
According to Rosa Elena’s Kiva profile:
Rosa Elena’s story
Rosa Elena is 65 years old, lives with her partner in a large community in the district of Tambo Grande in the province of Piura. This area offers basic services such as electricity, water and sewerage, and is located three hours from the city of Chiclayo.
For 18 years, she has been making a living raising and selling animals such as: cattle, sheep, and goats. When these animals have already grown, she offers them for sale to the merchants who always visit the area where she lives.
Rosa Elena wants to invest in the purchase of wholesale animals and balanced feed to sell these animals at a better price, and also to undertake some home repairs to improve the lifestyle. To achieve her objectives, she has requested Edpyme Alternativa a loan of 2000 soles.
Rosa Elena is an honest lady, devoted to her family and hard-working. Her greatest desire is to make sure her family has a better quality of life.
A loan of $600 helps to buy wholesale animals and balanced feed to sell these animals at a better price, and also to undertake some home repairs.
This loan is special because it reaches the underserved.
